A quick summary of articles we published in May 2007

Shooting Practice 100 Round Drill
& Shooting Record

We shoot a few hundred rounds each week (usually) and want to make the best use of that time, money and effort. So this is an attempt to make shooting more fun and interesting while encouraging real world shooting techniques. Go slow and steady, it's not the first one to shoot, it's the first one to make a hit

ACH/MICH Ops-Core Head-Loc Review

I had the opportunity to evaluate the ACH Head-Loc Retention System-X for the last several months and I am pleased with the quality/construction and performance from Ops-Core. The Head-Loc is a replacement chinstrap assembly for the ACH/MICH ballistic helmet.

The 24 or so people who showed up to shoot were split into four or five groups each with an RSO who shot the six stages together. Scores were kept and sent back to the score keeper in a small office between stage one and two.

May 2007 ACTS match at Pima Pistol Club

American Confederation of Tactical Shooters (ACTS) provides a sport in which Civilian rifle owners along with Military and Law Enforcement professionals can practice 'real world' shooting skills in a sporting venue that has not been offered by any other shooting discipline or association.

Gun Chat Shoot 5-2007

A few of us met up for another shoot in May outside of Tucson, AZ. We shot the 100 round drill and tested some new guns / gear. It was a hot day, almost 100, but not as hot as Tucson gets in mid summer.

Charles is a radio show host. Talking professionally lets Charles communicate efficiently and effectively. He's comfortable with his subject and his tools. There was little time wasted in his class looking for props, or references. While the class was full of information and used the full amount of time we were there, it didn't get boring or too fast to keep up

AZ CCW Class Review
Charles Heller, Tucson, AZ

If you do not already have a Arizona Concealed Carry Permit to carry Weapons then Charles Heller's course is worth attending to get your permit. However if you already have your CCW you might consider attending Charles class as a refresher, I have taken a half dozen CCW classes so far and I still learned new things in this class

Tucson Guns currently has over a dozen AK47s in stock

We have over 20 thousand rounds of ammo to feed your new AK too.

Look for the sign on the south side of Pima there's plenty of parking and the shop is back off the road a bit.

A quick tour of West of the Pecos gun shop

Stopped in and took some pictures of  West of the Pecos last week. One of the  older shops in Tucson, most  shooters know about the store, but here's a quick tour for anyone who might have overlooked this gun shop tucked in off the street on the south side of Pima between Swan and Craycroft

This BoB was made out of a modified Chinese chest rig and some kind of European military pouch. I included a few items that might be handy for getting out of just about any kind of trouble

Improvised 'Bug Out Bag' (BoB)

Many people feel a small bag that be kept near you is a better option for the prepared person a than a larger (more equipped) bag that's kept out of reach. With this concept in mind the Bob or Bug out Bag is a small bag with just essential items which can be used to get a person home or to a safe place

Noveske 18

Noveske 18" SPR

This Noveske 18" SPR is for sale so we took some pictures before it's gone. Take a look at a real nice SPR (Special Purpose Rifle) If you are interested in purchasing it contact Tucson Guns at 520-722-6886

We wear armor when practicing, so that might make the times inconsistent with our times without, but better safe than sorry.

100 rd Drill Update

I shot the drill six times with various firearms; Glock 22 and 23, AK47, AR15 and with my two back up guns a S&W .38 air weight and a KelTek P3AT. The drill is great practice so far.

AR 15 Short Barrel Rifle (SBR)

Main Short Barrel Rifle and Accessories

This AK47 is designed to be a fighting gun, however I use it for training and I plan to use it in a competition to see how I can do with it. I've made a few modifications to it. I've shaved down many of the sharp edges (I still wear gloves with it though) I added an extended charging handle. And modified the rear sight and the sling

Let us know, use the feedback form to request larger pictures.

It's a lot more work to load all the large pictures.
We are happy to do it if they are requested, but if not we leave them small to save time
