On Veterans Day 2007 we had a chance to shoot a real piece of US history, an original Colt M-16 A2 Commando. This one is full auto ( NFA item) and it is almost exactly like it was when it came out of the factory in 1985 or 1986. Here is another AK47 pistol imported from Romania. This one is well made but fairly crude compared to other AK47s. It has a unique front sight post / gas block and a modified (short range) rear sight. While its finish is crude, its workmanship is solid and it looks to be a good shooter. The third day of SHOT show 2008 was a Monday after the Superbowl. Las Vegas was less crowded than it was over the weekend, but there were still lots of people at the convention center. We attended an invite only demonstration shoot and took lots more pics there and back at the convention center. These two 37mm flare launchers look like Cobray M203 IMP or the 37mm M-79 L. These are designed to look like a real M203 40mm grenade launcher used by the military and police to launch gas and other grenades. And they are designed to fit under an AR15. However these 37mm flare launchers are restricted to be used for flares only without special licensing. We took a look at (and a few photos of) the new MCP Archangel from Microtech at the 2009 NRA National Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona. This Archangel design has been in development for more than a year secretly, so this was the first time the public was able to see them. The Microtech Archangel is a 9mm Double Action Only, Semi-Auto Pistol in all black or two-tone (black and stainless) pocket pistol. MCP Archangel from Microtech has finger grip on the magazine floor plate, and a mag release in the trigger guard. The Microtech Archangel weighs 7.1 ounces empty, and has a 2.32 inch long barrel, with a threaded barrel option a for a suppressor. The Microtech Archangel ships with two 5 round magazines that are constructed using the same material and waffle design they use on their MSAR 556 carbine magazines The Microtech Archangel we saw was the package that ships in a Pelican hard case with a matching Microtech Daytona OTF (out the front) automatic knife.
